Diwali is the most awaited festival of India, some people say Diwali as Deepavali the festivals of light, everywhere in India people light diyas on that particular night, light to overcome darkness. the festival of Diwali associates with many God and Goddesses of Hindu religion namely Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Krishna, Lord Ram and ma Sita etc.

Why Diwali is celebrated?
It is believed that on the day of Diwali Krishna has defeated demon Raksha Narakasura. and on Diwali Lord Rama has returned home after 14 years along vanvas with Maa Sita Lakshman after defeating Ravana on the day of Dussehra and to welcome them Diwali is being celebrated, some people also believe that on the day of Diwali Lord Vishnu is being married to Goddess Lakshmi. it is believed that on the day of Diwali Maa Kali was born. Day of Diwali is not only celebrated by Hindu religion but also in Jain and Sikh religion in Jain religion it is believed that Lord Mahavira get enlightened on the day of Diwali. Diwali Day celebrated by Sikh religion as the day of getting freedom of their Guru Har Gobind from jail.
How Diwali is celebrated?
The night before Diwali Narakasura is big burnt. and after that Diya is being lighted at homes. on the day of Diwali after Holy bath new clothes are being wore and take blessings from God. On the day of Diwali there is a delicious breakfast and people greet each other and lights up the houses.
On the night of Diwali Lakshmi puja is being carried out where people do Lakshmi pooja homes and worship Goddess Lakshmi and burst firecrackers.
Diwali is being celebrated for the 5 days day one is Dhanteras day 2 is Narak Chaturdashi Day 3 is Lakshmi Pujan day 4 is and Govardhan puja and day 5 is Bhai Dooj.
Diwali is also famous for shopping and exchanging gifts, people go for shopping friends and relatives and buy auspicious items like gold silver first children's new clothes and for friends and family share sweets like Sonpapdi laddus etc.
Where Diwali is celebrated?
Diwali celebrated not only in India but in countries like Sri Lanka Mauritius etc. every state in india celebrated Diwali in unique way. in Ayodhya thousands of the diyas are being light up, in Uttar Pradesh Varanasi special Ganga aarti is being taken place which floating diyas on river Ganga. Kolkata Mahakali Pooja on the day of Diwali and in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka Lakshmi pujan is celebrated.
